Install

Get AI out of the chat box.

Download HQ, open it, and you’re minutes from AI that works beside you on your real work. Signed and notarized by Apple — no warnings, no fuss.

Why install it

It’s the difference between
using AI and wielding it.

Prefer the terminal?

Skip the installer.
One command.

Bootstrap HQ straight from your shell — same result, no download.

hq — -zsh — 80×24

# bootstrap HQ from your shell — one command:

$

Once it’s installed

From download to building.

The same setup we’d walk you through in a session — start to finish, on your own.

// 01

Open the installer

Once it downloads, open it. It’s signed with Indigo’s Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so there are no Gatekeeper warnings.

// 02

Log in and launch

Step through to the end and sign in with your email — the one you were invited to your company’s team with, if that applies. Then click the white “Launch in Claude Code” button.

// 03

Trust the workspace

Claude Code opens with “hq” selected and “/setup” pre-typed. Choose “Trust this workspace,” and make sure the “hq” folder is still the target.

// 04

Dial in your settings

We recommend the latest models (Opus 4.8, GPT-5.5), thinking set to at least “High,” and “bypass permissions” (auto mode) turned on — you may need to enable it in settings.

// 05

Press enter to run /setup

Hit ⏎ in the message box to start setup.

// 06

Answer, then run /handoff

Work through every question until it says setup is finished, then send “/handoff” to save everything to HQ’s memory. You’ll do this at the end of every session.

// 07

Open a fresh session and build

Start with “/brainstorm” to get going. Working on a specific company? Send “/startwork acme” and describe what you want to do. Then it’s the same rhythm every time: start work, handoff, repeat.

We’ll get you up and running.

Rather have a guided hand than go it alone? Grab a time and we’ll get you building in your very first session.
